In support of its Reach Out and Read program, Muskegon Family Care was given over 20,000 books from FirstBook, a national organization dedicated to providing books to underserved children. The books came in two shipments, one at the end of November and one at the beginning of December. Volunteers from the clinic drove first to Baltimore and then to St. Louis to bring back the loads of free books. When they returned, additional volunteers formed an assembly line to get the books into our storage and ready for distribution to our patients. The books are intended for the patients of Muskegon Family Care when they come in for their medical visits.
