Muskegon Family Care Offers New Stress Management Series
MUSKEGON HEIGHTS – Muskegon Family Care, a local community health center, is offering a new
educational series on stress management that it is calling “Get SMART – Stress Management And Relaxation
Training.” The series is open to the public and kicks off with the topic of headaches on June 11, 2008 from noon –
1pm. The classes will include experiential exercises as well as information.
“The idea behind “Get SMART” is to give our patients and the community a brief sample of the tools that are
available to them with the hopes that they follow up on the ones that really interest them,” notes series coordinator
Stephanie Vannett, MSW. “We’ll be using our on-site experts as well as experts from the community.” Future topics
include: yoga, art therapy, tai chi, massage, and the pursuit of happiness. All classes are held at Muskegon Family
Care’s Getty Clinic on the second Wednesday of every month from noon to 1pm. Some classes will offer door prizes
as well. To register for one of the classes, contact Stephanie Vannett, at 231-737-1895.
