Muskegon Family Care Offers Hope for Healthy Beginnings
MUSKEGON HEIGHTS – Muskegon Family Care, a local community health center, is offering a chance to get healthy again this New Year. It is a time for resolutions. Why not resolve to be healthy and learn effective self-management skills? We’re calling it “Resolve to Be Healthy Month” and we hope to offer educational materials along with practical tools on how to make healthy resolutions and KEEP THEM!
Events surrounding this month’s theme involve our Get S.M.A.R.T. (Stress Management And Relaxation Training) class, which will be held January 14 from 12-1pm at 2201 S. Getty; and healthy weight week, which is January 18th – 24th. During the class one of our clinical experts, Gwen Williams, will speak to the group on “How to Change” and be successful in keeping their resolutions. During healthy weight week, a FREE information session will be offered on January 21st from 12-1pm at 1700 Oak Avenue. Also, a FREE smoking cessation class will be offered on Friday, January 2 at 2201 S. Getty at 3:30pm. In honor of two other National Health Observances, we are offering educational materials on Cervical Health and free samples of Folic Acid. With a high-risk patient population, it is important to promote preventative care as an option to “Resolve to Be Healthy”.
