  • Medical Care

    Our health clinics offer a full range of primary care services to families including immunizations and well-child care, pregnancy care and deliveries, family planning services and osteopathic manipulation. Primary medical care services are provided for people of all ages, accepting Medicare, all types of Medicaid, some private insurances and uninsured (who are offered a sliding fee scale for services).

  • Behavioral Health

    Muskegon Family Care’s Behavioral Health Team is committed to preserving and improving the quality of mental health for the adult, child or family experiencing difficulties in their daily level of functioning. Our integrated mental health services are offered by Master level trained therapists who offer outpatient treatment in a professional, caring and confidential manner. While not an all-inclusive list, some issues addressed during individual therapy include:

    • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
    • Bereavement
    • Bipolar Disorder
    • Conduct Disorder
    • Depressive Disorders

  • Maternal Infant Health Program

    Through home visits our team of nurses, social workers, dietitians and infant mental health specialists provide supportive care and education to pregnant women and families of infants up to 1 year of age.

  • Sliding Fee Scale Discounts

    For patients whose insurance does not completely cover their care at MFC, a sliding fee scale discount is available based on income. The lowest co-pay for visits under this scale for medical is $5, and $45.00 for the dental.  The fee scale offers a discount percentage for patients whose incomes are up to 200% of the federal poverty guidelines.

  • Pharmaceutical Assistance

    MFC helps patients afford medications in a variety of ways. We have a discount pharmacy program through our own Getty Street Pharmacy as well as through Westshore Professional Pharmacy. This program provides significant discounts for MFC patients without prescription coverage. Stop by the MFC Pharmacy located in our Getty Street Clinic or call Westshore Professional Pharmacy at 231-672-2204 for further information.

    We also offer a limited supply of sample medications, and assist patients in applying for pharmaceutical company indigent drug programs. Ask at your MFC clinic for more information.

  • Transportation Services

    MFC patients can be transported to medical appointments by our driver.

  • Sight for Students Vision Program

    Any student in the community who lacks vision insurance and needs an eye exam and glasses may contact the AmeriCorps Outreach Worker at the Getty Street Clinic, 231-739-9315, to see if they may qualify for a gift certificate for this program. Adults with diabetes may also qualify for a dilated retinal exam through the Lions Club – contact the AmeriCorps Outreach Worker for information on this program.

  • Community Referral Services

    MFC patients who need assistance with community resources for emergency needs or other services may ask for the Clinic Counselor at their medical care site. Information on resources for food, clothing, household items, and community services are available through our counselors.

  • Parenting Classes

    Dad’s Always on Duty Class is taught at Mercy General Partners (MGHP) Special Delivery Classrooms every 3 months for fathers who may not be living with their babies (or who are not married to the moms). This class teaches dads hands-on care for infants and also teaches rights and responsibilities of dads. A “dad pack” of supplies is given to every participant, and a drawing is also held during the 2-1/2 hour class. Call to register at 231-737-1760.

    Parenting Classes through MSS/ISS are taught every 3 months at MGHP for parents of infants and toddlers. This class is for mothers and fathers, and childcare and transportation is provided. The participant learn hands-on skills and have the opportunity to share tips with other parents. Each family who participates is given a $10 Meijer gift certificate

  • Outreach Activities

    Muskegon Family Care has several outreach activities to promote the health of the community. Past activities have included a “Mammogram Party” to encourage women to get mammograms, “Give Kids a Smile Day” in which 63 uninsured children received dental care at no charge from volunteer dentists, and participation in various health fairs throughout the community.

  • Mitzie Fund

    This emergency fund for patients of MFC is used to assist in meeting emergency needs and needs that cannot be met in other ways. Staff refer patients in need to the fund, which can offer up to $50 on a one-time basis. This fund is made possible through staff donations and has helped patients with such items as food, clothing, Christmas gifts, prescription co-pays and other items.

  • Household / Clothing Donations

    MFC staff donates gently used items for patients that has estimated over $1700 per year.

  • Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP)

    Free breast and cervical cancer screening services provided at MFC medical site to qualifying women aged 40 and over.

  • Centering Pregnancy

    Muskegon Family Care is excited to announce Centering Pregnancy!  No more long waits in the waiting room!  Our midwives, Bethany Brown, Hellen Bennett, Jennifer Towers, and Ericka Vander Sys, along with Dr. Hogue, MD are initiating a new way to give prenatal care here at MFC.  Centering Pregnancy is about promoting women making healthy choices for themselves.  It’s a group of women with similar due dates having prenatal visits together.  There will be music and food provided at every visit.  They will get more time with their provider and with other expectant moms.  They will be able to talk about their health issues that are important to them and all their concerns, physically and emotionally.
